Abstract
NVP and MA are the contact lens materials with wettability and hydrophilicity. Also, these effect increase wear comfort and decrease foreign body sensation.

Purpose: This study is on the influence of NVP, MA and Silicone on water content of contact lens.

Methods: Each sample of contact lenses are fabricated by cast mould method. For the statistical analysis, average, standard deviation and significant level of water content of each sample were analyzed using SPSS WIN 10 version.

Results: In the composition of silicone(0.20~7.50%), water content of sample showed 26.83% and 27.92%. In case of the composition including NVP(5.15%), water content of sample showed 31.03% and 34.10% each. Also in case of the samples including MA(5.15%), the results showed 58.96% and 62.15% each.

Conslusions: We judged that the increase of water contents in silicone hydrogel contact lens with NVP and MA were caused by hydrophilic group effect.
